The town of Carthage has a long history of mysterious fires,
and once again, the fiery destruction has crept back into
the townspeople's lives. However, the reemergence of the
fires is just one of the town's concerns. Even though many
years have passed since Louis Ferr terrorized this little
town, and yet, danger still lurks on the streets.
Set five years after "Don't Pay the Ferryman," book two of
this series finds the town experiencing this new threat at a
time when power, greed, and apathy have reared their ugly
heads over the community. The appearance of the Reaper has
presented a new threat for the residents; but is he a new
villain, or has he been around Carthage before? No one has
been ruled out as a suspect, leaving the possibility open
that the killer could be someone we know and trust.
Bucky Morgan and Roger Fasick join together once again in an
attempt to halt the spread of the Reaper's terror. In order
too defeat the Reaper and stop his madness, they will have
to dig up clues to the mystery of the Reaper's origins as
well as overcome their own personal differences and mounting
distrust.
Before the town is completely destroyed, Bucky and Roger
must find out if the Reaper is a ghost, a demon, or one of
the local townspeople? Could their old pal, Thomas Parker,
have finally gone over the edge of madness? Or perhaps it is
someone else. Or worse yet, has Louis Ferr returned from the
dead to wreak more havoc?
